Creating Advantage through Business Intelligence
Prove Value. Increase Impact. Decrease Portfolio Risk.

Today’s leading companies are harnessing data to transform virtually every industry, and corporate real estate is no exception. Ken Nigro, Americas Business Intelligence and Analytics Leader at JLL will facilitate a discussion on how actionable business intelligence presents an opportunity for CRE teams to increase their impact on the broader business.

Specifically, he and Kirk Solomon, SVP Facility Services at Paramount Pictures will review how teams are deriving insights from their data to innovate and guide decision making around reducing costs,right-sizing portfolios, identifying underutilized assets, and mitigating risks. They will examine the entire process, from identifying the most relevant and high-impact questions and data sets, and appropriate analytics techniques to address them, to building the technical and organizational capabilities required to support the process. | 1 CPD credit provided to MCR designees

The Southern California Chapter of CoreNet Global presents
Creating Workplaces that Really Attract & Retain

New research completed by Mars Drinks with LinkedIn shows that less than 50% of surveyed employees would recommend their employer to others, and 57% of those are looking for other jobs. Tracy taught the group how creating vibrant and inspiring workplaces can help you attract, retain and engage employees. She explained about proprietary research on neuroscience related to why employees love (or not) the experience they have in the workplace, and what matters most in creating workspaces that people love.

 Workplace Experience:
A New Employee Value Proposition +
Tour DIRECTV

Thank you to those who attended our Workplace Experience event at DIRECTV. For those who did not attend, see what you missed:

Thank you to Sodexo and DIRECTV for hosting our program!

Program Description:
While we know that one’s experience at work directly contributes to quality of life (QoL), there has been little if any research to date about how people define beneficial “experiences” in the workplace – nor, do we understand whether this experience is “shared” in its conceptual breakdown, across individuals or if it varies with job type, individual personality, or some other factor(s). Sodexo’s research team undertook a comprehensive research study aimed at understanding the lived experience of people in the workplace, with an emphasis on the positive components that contribute to a “great workplace experience.” The resulting “Workplace Experience” survey instrument aids in the predictive ability of employers to determine causes of absenteeism, presenteeism, etc. In addition, it highlights areas of potential intervention to improve the workplace experience.

In this presentation, Sodexo will define Workplace Experience and describe the research conducted to conceptualize the Workplace Experience Model. Two cases studies will also be discussed, highlighting two companies that undertook workplace transformation projects in order to provide an opportunity to create a new workplace experience and value proposition for their employees.

Presented by
Rachel Permuth, PhD, National Director of Research, Innovations to Solutions for Sodexo
Rachel leads consumer insight studies on organizational issues and challenges and opportunities facing our clients. Prior to her current role with Sodexo, Dr. Permuth supported the development of programs and solutions for Fortune 500 companies, leading U.S. Hospitals and higher education institutions. She also served as the Director of the Center of Employee Health and Well-being at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and was also Deputy Director of the Office of Strategic and Innovative Programs at NIH. Her PhD is in Public and Community Health from the University of Maryland. She also has a background in mathematics and psychology.
