Jay Warner, Assistant Vice Chancellor Real Estate and Facilities at
Brandman University told webinar attendees how his institution was well prepared to handle the virtual education requirements that the pandemic presented. Brandman had a pandemic plan in place, executed it prior to statewide shutdowns on the West Coast and instituted an instructional design that relied on online processes for students and faculty. Purchase of laptops in the winter, ahead of the spike in demand, meant that on March 1 the entire team could go virtual. Traditional universities are struggling with the pivot and some have had to shutter their doors after decades of service to students.
